Current interests in research and development relevant to the Hub

  • Toxic gas sensing: The sensitivity and selectivity of nanowire-based sensors to toxic chemical special will be simulated from theoretical modelling based on density functional theory, molecule dynamics, machine learning and other computer modelling techniques, which will be used to guide the design of optimal sensors with improved performance.
  • Heath sensing: Blood pressure, oxygen level and red blood cells are important indices to measure the quality of sleep. We will develop the prototype of biochemical sensors to monitor the levels of blood oxygen, pressure and red cells, with the numeric models and simulations.
