Dr Henry Gong is the General Manager of Roobuck and has a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Sydney. Henry started his career as an academic in several Australian universities. He then entered the IT and METS industry, holding senior engineering positions in AMPControl, Cisco/Radiata, Netcomm, Star Games and TC Lab. Henry is the pioneer of cordless miner’s cap lamp. Henry with his partner created Kinyun Australia in 2006 then released the world’s first IECEx certified cordless cap lamp. Roobuck was created in 2008, replacing Kinyun Australia, to design comprehensive mining products. Henry has transformed Roobuck into a Mine IoT product manufacturer and solution provider, supported by various federal and state government research grants including two CRC-Ps, ARC Innovation Hubs and PSF the 2021 Physical Science Fund.
