Xinyi Cao is a PhD candidate at UNSW Sydney in the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering. Her specialisation is in Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering. She completed her undergraduate studies at Zhengzhou University and earned her Master’s from Shanghai Tech University. Her previous research focused on flexible ionic conductive sensors, integrating triboelectric principles with machine learning for material identification.

As part of her PhD, Xinyi aims to explore acoustic sensors, specifically developing wearable devices for monitoring cardiopulmonary functions. She believes that acoustic sensing will significantly impact various critical areas and drive technological advancements in the future.
