Prof John A. Rogers visits UNSW

On 21 June 2023, the Hub welcomed Prof John A. Rogers to the UNSW School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering for a showcase of presentations from HDR students Postdocs.
The seminar showcased several research projects from the hub, including highly stretchable electronics using nanocomposite, flexible implanted neuron stimulators, wearable energy harvester, and multimodal, wireless wearable sensing devices for Telehealth.
The showcase afforded a great opportunity for discussion amongst participants and an opportunity for students and colleagues to build connections.
Following the showcase, co-organised by Hub CI Hoang Phuong Phan, Prof Rogers gave a seminar as part of the UNSW Engineering Distinguished Seminar Series titled “Soft, Skin-Interfaced Devices for Health Monitoring and Haptic Interactions”, where internal and external community members learned about the ongoing research at the Querrey-Simpson Institute for Bioelectronics.
Prof John A. Rogers is a renowned researcher in the field of physical chemistry. He has degrees from the University of Texas and MIT, and has worked at Bell Laboratories and the University of Illinois. He currently serves as Director of the Querrey-Simpson Institute for Bioelectronics at Northwestern University. Prof Rogers has received numerous awards, including a MacArthur Fellowship and the Benjamin Franklin Medal. He is a member of several prestigious academies, including the National Academy of Sciences.
